The Story

The journey of life goes through countless paths, each with its own distinct features. The Arabic language reflects this plurality with a large array of words describing pathways. This mind map focuses on different synonyms for clear, straight paths. Since nuance in the difference between them cannot be captured in English, we did not include translations.

The words near the bottom are used in a literal sense to describe streets and roadways. On the other hand, those closer to the horizon are used metaphorically more often, and are connected to the Quran. The visual design mirrors the journey of spiritual enlightenment.
